About our farm
We are a small grassland farm based in Crouch near Wrotham. We produce hay, haylage and straw for the equestrian market as well as logs and kindling for domestic heating.
We also have a herd of pedigree Hereford cattle that calve in the spring and rotationally graze the farm. They move onto the hay ground once it has been cut in the early summer.
The farm has lots of woodland consisting of predominantly ash with some hornbeam and cherry – which makes the perfect firewood mix.
About our Hay
All of our hay is produced to a high standard on pastures located on the farm or within a 5 mile radius. All of our fields are regularly inspected through the spring and into the summer meaning we can ensure weed free hay.
All our baling is undertaken in house so we can ensure a consistent bale size and weight so our customers know they are getting great value for money.
All our round bales are produced at 4ft6 which is 6″ bigger than the market average!
About our logs
All our logs are sourced from woodland on the farm.
Unfortunately, in 2018 we found out the woodland had ash dieback (a disease killing ash trees up and down the country) and so the affected trees needed to be felled in order to make them safe and stop the disease spreading.
Since then we have been felling compartments of woodland affected by the disease, in order to fund this we decided to start processing and selling the fallen trees as logs.
Ash makes one of the best firewoods and therefor we have found great demand for our logs.
